Yep, a new version will be on TRP3.

So the new song for the challenge is, since no one bothered with Reign O'er Me or I'm In Love With My Car...

May the odds be in your favor.

I'd say people should be allowed to do the A4-B4 phrasing if they want to.
However, if someone does the "nohappyendingliketheeeey've" phrasing, they should be shot.

Trp 2 will remain here anyways, so we'll still be able to post I suppose.

If not, this thread is the ultimate proof he has forsaken us assuming he exists of course.

This thread would be even better if the users posted videos of themselves singing those hard song.
The struggle would be even more real.

Here ya go

I didn't know the bridge. Chickened out on the "No happy endings" part. Also tried to imitate Tate in the first verse.

How did I do?

Sad

Honestly, I agree. It wasn't the best cover, most high notes sounded strained, I cracked a lot, didn't know the bridge.

Still, I gave it my best shot!

It was a one-take cover, under the thread rules.

General common sense also dictates that you can practise it beforehand...for as long as you like. Concert musicians only have one shot at getting their performance right, that's why they PRACTISE.

Gotta love doing full-length covers of songs you don't know well.

I have bad news for you, you're gonna be either a mid baritone or a bass. I pray for bass.

Your answers have demonstrated supreme wisdom throughout the course of the months you've been here, so it occurred to me, since you happen to have the perfect answer for everything, I thought I'd ask this one question.

What's the meaning of life?

Now now, when he means practice, he means that you still need more practice, just cause you practiced it, doesn't mean it's enough, it takes ages to make something sound good man....

You're still squeaking your voice sometimes, less than before I guess, but here's a tip for you, find out where your comfortable chest range ends and practice songs only up to that note, try to hit your top highest note and make it less strained, you'll gain a note or two every about 5 months ? that's about right.

When we say practice, we mean solid high quality practice of you listening back to what you sing and trying to fix it, acknowledge your limits then move past them...

Your voice needs to grow, it's a group of muscles, you don't bench press 200 pounds in the GYM right away on your first month, you need to build up to it, muscle coordination around and in the larynx needs to be trained, you just CAN'T hit A5 right away and expect it to sound good, unless you're just born with it, if you're not, you'll have to train for it, even those who are born with talent have to work their way up to it as well... they usually have parents who support them and teachers.

Acknowledge your limits, stop the mindless "challenge" BS, be reasonable about it, if your top note is a damn F4, don't you dare try hitting anything above F#4, also, fuck having a 4 octaves range when it sounds like shit, any person can do that, you need control to make things sound good, gain control over what you currently have, then expand your range, gaining more range won't help at all if you can't control it, plus if you can control your current range, it'll make it easier for you to grow your voice and gain more range...

Bottom line, QUALITY practice. PLEASE dude.

A great part of singing is actually listening.... you're not listening to your voice.
