I'll just leave it there. Not the best part of the song, but it's my favourite record of Lemmy. That warm feeling when listening to his voice, no matter how bad you feel.
Check out the whole version, it's easily one of 1000 best tracks you should listen to in your life.

And this. This kind of moments is priceless.

I remember him being interviewed during the "NWOBHM" era in 1980. When asked "What do you think defines Metal music?" he replied simply "Noise". RIP.

RIP indeed, motherfucker. I was just saying the other day that I didn't think Lemmy had much life left in him, but damn I didn't expect it to happen this soon. Sad

Was just relistening to the 1916 album a bit ago and stumbled across this song. Some really weird lows throughout...I wanna say maybe throat sung second octave? Definitely a lot of G♯s and I think maybe some F♯s anyhow.

Yeah I thought the same thing last week. Great musician. I'm sure he was surprised he had lived for so long! RIP.

I'm convinced he was a tenor, with a serious amount of damage leading to his raspy heavy tone. RIP

1:02 - I could be hearing things but I'm fairly certain there's a faint backing vocal that gets down to a solid F♯2 and possibly an E♭2 (!) on the second line

I can vouch for the F♯2, but the alleged E♭2 seems to be completely inaudible as far as I can tell.

You'd think so, but you'd also be wrong Smile

Also there's no voice type listed for him, so why does it matter?

It doesn't really, it's just fun to talk about. He has a very unique voice.

Don't understand how y'all are hearing a voice like this as tenorish in any way...

Just a case of an extremely, extremely husky (but blatant) tenor. Like, if he were any huskier he'd pull sleds!

Right, I've been listening to some different guest appearance, live shows and other misc. recordings, I've found a bunch of notes to add to this thread.

High Notes:
E♭5("Countdown")
D5 ("Countdown")
C5 ("Civil War" Live at Brixton Acadamy, "Highway to Hell")
B4 ("Blue Suede Shoes", "Horse", "Tie Your Mother Down", "Tomatohead")
A4 ("Countdown", "Desire", "Doctor Alibi", "Fool's Paradise", "Highway to Hell", "Shake me", "Tie Your Mother Down", "Tomatohead", "Twist and Shout")

Low notes:
D3("Back in the USSR", "Eve of Destruction", "Tomatohead")
C3("Sister Anne", "Tomatohead")
B2("Sister Anne")
A2("Sister Anne")
F#2("Countdown")
E2("Countdown")

The E2 is about  3:18. It's kinda hard to make out, but it's there. I am not 100% sure of the pitch for this one.

Why, of course!

It's at the 3:18 mark. He starts spouting a bunch of noises which i think bottom at E2. It's pretty hard to tell.
EDIT: Nvm, just a really strange E3. I think the F#2's are still legit, though.
