if you listen to the song, it's a "meh" note, it isn't clear, it's so short and i must relisten to the song 'cause i'm not  sure it's a D4.

Low note suggestion:

From :55 to 1:38.

Also, regarding the C2 on "Troubadour" I listened to the song and can't hear him sing any note as low as that, can someone show me? I don't doubt it exists (maybe it's on a different version?) I'm just curious!

Not meaning to bring this into voice type discussion territory, but by "Johnny Sang Bass (Baritone)" do you mean he's a bass-baritone, or do you mean he's a baritone? Using brackets instead a hyphen makes it a little unclear which way you're calling it. Sorry if I'm sounding like a douche, as I actually like the song title pun. I'm just not sure which category you're placing him into.

He's a baritone who sang bass. Also thanks for all the notes!

It might be worth notewatching the whole video, there's some good stuff in there.

Found a few high notes:

54:04 - Orange Blossom Special
55:22 - Orange Blossom Special

00:24 - Beans For Breakfast

I'm also gathering some low notes for a new Johnny Cash Low Notes compilation which should be useful to this thread.

Post  Greasy Bassman on Tue Jul 05, 2016 4:14 pm

Johnny Cash is one of my favorite artist! Overall this seems like an accurate thread that demonstrates his range! Plus I was always very curious to know what his range actually was! Thanks!

Thank you very much!
Anyway the thread isn't complete, his range could be more than this. Smile

I gave a link to my new JC low notes compilation but I've had some problems and the video is pretty much blocked everywhere. I'll give the relevant links/timestamps later.

This was pretty much what I had in my Johnny Cash Low Notes #3 video, which was rendered almost useless because of copyright. Damn copyright. Razz

Dark As A Dungeon - some generally nice lows

I Got Stripes - bass slide @ the end - there might be an actual bass singer mixed in there somewhere which may make it difficult:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0LRpCv7siI

I've Been Everywhere - the words of the song title are sang low at the end

The Walls Of A Prison - sounds the same as Streets of Laredo, some nice lows throughout

It Was Jesus -  he goes quite low when saying 'it was Jesus Christ our Lord': https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFwK_ZTCfLc

Daddy Sang Bass - bass slide at the end: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxSMXhlvwio

These Hands - nice bass at the end: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igcPXFs4VdY

My Children Walk In Truth - nothing overly special but may have some noteworthy lows

The Blizzard - you'll probably have a tough job finding this on YouTube, it seems there are some strict copyrights with it.

Oh What A Good Thing We Had - some lovely low notes here, probably in the 1st octave!

Enjoy.

This whole video is noteworthy, but especially at 3:00; this song has some decent lows AND highs
