Given the discrepancy of opinions, I probably wouldn't bother counting this one.

It's pretty easy, actually: if it's not sung, don't count it. By the way, this thread absolutely needs italics.

I don't get it. Why would this thread need italics if none of his notes are sung? Zack De La Rocha is a rapper and none of his notes are sung, but it still has an italics section. To me, there's a difference between singing and rapping.

Well, you know, this forum is all about researching the vocal range of singers, people who can actually control their voices. This thread is at a much lower standard automatically by having no sung notes, so that should definitely be acknowledged given that not everybody will just 'know' he doesn't sing by clicking on his thread. We really should just delete this thread, but if you want to keep it you absolutely have to make that distinction.

And nobody cares about Zack De La Rocha, that's why.

Are you telling me rappers don't control their voices?

The issue I have with the above argument is that TRP advertises itself as a forum for "vocalist" discussion, not exclusively for "singers". And while I don't think guys like Burnett and de la Rocha are worth spending much effort on because of the nature of their music/vocals, they fall under the "vocalist" label and do have their place on the forum as far as I'm concerned. There are numerous other people who would not be considered "singers" per se that still have threads on the forum. If we get rid of this guy, the others should be gotten rid of as well.

We have no way of knowing whether or not rappers/'vocalists' can control their voices because they don't follow any sort of melody. Anyone can claim they are a 'vocalist' and shout over a backing track, so I don't see the significance there. Right now though, All I'm saying is to use italics in the thread.

But then I'd have absolutely zero idea of what notes to italicize and what notes to be kept the way they are. Regardless, I still think these threads they should be kept, but I don't know how to differentiate italicized and normal notes in this case.

give a disclaimer on the nature of the notes listed on the thread? could just italicize everything that doesn't follow a melody, or use a specific colour like green.

Just write a disclaimer that nearly all of these notes are non-sung. Most of his notes are either spoken or shouted. What's the point of italicizing almost every note fam?

I mean, none of his notes are melodic, and I don't want to italicize the whole thread for that reason.

you could argue that the notes from the chorus of "I've Seen Footage" are melodic. Actually you could argue a few of them like the G2s from "Hot Head" as well.

But most of them are just shouted or spoken.

Guess I'll be the bearer of bad news: Reb will be taking this thread over on TRP 3.

It's MY thread! I've done a good job with it!

Is there any way that can change?

Implying that not adding notes when they're requested and doing very little research yourself is doing a "good job".

Sorry man, it's too late. But didn't you say you're not a fan of rap music? Consider this a relief of your burden. You'll find another singer to complement your Ryan Higa thread.
