Nice to see an active member with his thread! Very Happy

I still kind of question the notability of his G7. It's really a nano scream/not super controlled in my opinion. But there is a G1 in Temptation that was mentioned in the old thread, but forgotten about. I personally consider it a countable non-sung note, as it's definitely a sustained growl with some pitch definition.

Yeah I'd count that just for consistency sake on TRP. I wouldn't count it on my own terms, but at this point, consider what else has been counted. This note is pretty much no different than Phil's D1's on Drag the Waters or some other low spoken notes.

I'm going to need serious help for completing this thing because I don't have enough interest in his music to go through his discography by myself. If I could get 10 people to help out, we could all do just 4 albums and this thread would be done (same goes for the Sinatra thread).

I have quite a few of his albums on my iTunes library. Greatest hits/B sides and his last 3 albums. I'll compile a list of stuff for you soon. There are like 100 songs so yeah...

My copy of Purple Rain is vinyl Laughing Yes, I'm that old. Speaking of purpleness and rain, I love the OP photo - is that the Super Bowl?

I'm just hearing a crazy G5 and a D6 after it at that time stamp. Not much else...

Here's what I got from the Purple Rain album, 1 down, 38 more to go:

Spoiler:

Obvs not including the t/t and When Doves Cry cause they're already in the OP

Significant High notes:
B♭6: ("Computer Blue")
E♭6: ("Baby I'm a Star")
D6: ("Baby I'm a Star", "The Beautiful Ones", "Darling Nikki")
B5: ("Baby I'm a Star")
B♭5: ("Computer Blue", "The Beautiful Ones")
A5: ("Baby I'm a Star")
G♯5: ("Let's Go Crazy")
G5: ("I Would Die 4 U")
F♯5: ("Baby I'm a Star", "Darling Nikki", "I Would Die 4 U")
F5: ("The Beautiful Ones")
C♯5: ("Take me With U")
A4: ("The Beautiful Ones")

Significant low notes:
D3: ("Darling Nikki") Don't know where you wanna start his lows.
G♯2: ("Take Me With U")
F♯2: ("Darling Nikki")
F2: ("The Beautiful Ones")

Holy fuck the B♭5's in The Beautiful Ones. Actually just so many crazy notes on this album alone, really hope this thread gets finished one day since this dude was quite obviously a monster singer. Since I'm not the only one who has this album and I'm relatively new, anyone feel free to double check these.
Also there are potentially obscured B5's at the start of Darlin' Nikki, but I didn't include them cause I wasn't sure if they were Prince or what they were.

38 albums to be notewatched of his. Who all would be willing to help out in getting Prince's thread fixed up? The larger the amount of people, the fewer albums each of you would have to notewatch.

Pretty much all his stuff from The Love Symbol album onwards is still streaming on Xiami.com somehow, so I could help out using that when I find the time.

though that being said it's a bastard of a site, will work perfectly for some songs and then buffer like crazy for others to the point where it's basically unusable

There's a C♯7 (I think) in Little Red Corvette at 3:24 (italics as it's just an out of control whistle)

Well, that's not very subtle is it?

I think this should be counted.
