.......................................................
Blue marks falsetto notes.
Green marks harsh/scream notes.
*Underline marks backing vocals.[/size]
*Italics mark non-melodic notes.

Lead singer of Alien Ant Farm, Dryden has very distinctive manner of singing and unique tone. There is a very little amount of high notes in Alien Ant Farm discography, but all notes throughout his whole range are very strong.
Higher and lower notes are not significant high and significant low notes, because otherwise this thread would have like 6 notes charted from 3 songs.

Very good live performances:

Third one I guess, though it doesn't describe his personality. I was surprised there's no photos of his ass naked, aha.

Yeah he does look too serious on the 3rd one, thought it's a good photo. he shows his best personality on the 2nd photo, so there's that, but on the first pic he looks the hottest so you decide. all of them are great nevertheless and way better than the current one

Any 5th octave note (yelps, etc) in Smooth Criminal is Tye Zamora (bass player).
But timing for all these notes to double-check would be useful.

It might be the bass player, yeah.

They're 2:28 onwards

the woo's are probably the bassist, but the other "tcha tcha tcha btcha cha"  doodling is maybe Dryden, not sure. 1:44 for the black A4, Gs are throughout the whole song.

A few tips:
Don't use the term 'low tenor', either don't include a voice type or just say 'Tenor'
If he is a tenor, then F4 is way too low to start for SHN, try G4.
You also don't really need both underlined stuff and purple stuff, try this:

Purple marks notes in backing vocals or otherwise muffled/obscured in the song mix.
*Blue marks clear falsetto notes.
*Italics mark non-melodic notes.
*Grey marks heavily fryish notes.

If you think it's necessary, just use "Dramatic Tenor."

Ollie, thank you very much for bringing this up, italics make so much more sense.
As for voice type - we decided to use as correct voice types as possible, if singer is Low Tenor - he'll be charted as Low Tenor for all the good reasons.

There is no SHN in this thread. I can't really see any reason to start his high notes section higher than many of his most spectacular notes.

Molandfreak wrote:If you think it's necessary, just use "Dramatic Tenor."
Operatic voice type classification is not suited for modern music, because it's originally based on roles, so prefix based on position of the voice is the most correct.

To actually say something about what Ollie said I think that purple is not suited. Underline instead. There will be obscured notes that may be full or others may be falsetto, and if you're making a difference between these two it can be counterproducing because you can't paint a note both purple and blue... but you can paint it blue and underline it.

Also, I don't know why the A4 in Smooth Criminal would have to be in itallics, it's sung. And there are also some G4s throughout the song which should probably be listed. Smile

Doodling is non-melodic, I guess it should be marked italic, right? yeah it's melodic, I'll change it now.
If there is some good notes - point me with timing and I'll add it. I just have like 20 singers I notewatch on my free time, and there is a reason why I can't just pick one and do the whole discography, so any help is highly appreciated.

Oh yeah, underlined is a better way of doing it to be honest.
I would say that I've never seen "Higher notes" in a thread before, and I wouldn't advise messing with the formula...
Again, we don't use those prefixes anymore because of the massive arguments they can cause, so just get rid of 'Low' or get rid of the voice type altogether (or have a joke prefix/suffix).

That means there is something wrong with this formula, because the best of singer's repertoire can not fit in this formula.
Well, we use, because we can spot it accurately:) Any arguments can be sent to me via pm by anyone who really have some solid education on this subject and not just read wikipedia.

oh man that's savage.

But yeah I agree with devine here, operatic prefixes are kind of pointless to have for somebody that doesn't sing opera.

M Shadows is a Spinto Lyric Dramatic Lasagna Baritone! But Serj Tankian is a Farfalle Macaroni Spaghetti Tenor (he hit a C5).

I'll stop shitposting.

But one thing I'd do is just erase purple and underline anything that's backing vocals or buried/obscured in the mix. Because it's pointless having both.
