Clem Singing Thread

Post  Clem on Sat Dec 12, 2015 11:28 am

I'm a little nervous in front of the camera so my talking tends to sound a little more subdued and less resonant than my singing. I'm mainly trying to build my mixed voice at the moment, and get better at bridging.

Your youthful appearance makes the manliness of your voice a bit of a surprise! Smile

When I saw the thumbnail I was like "Another boy soprano who wants to ask about his voice type" XD
Turns out you hit low notes better than I do T~T WAY better.

Did a cover of this little number. Probably better than the "Silent Lucidity" one, at least in audio quality anyhow lol. All feedback appreciated.

Relax your jaws, and overall keep yourself relaxed. You don't need to push or overdue to sound strong and expressive.

Btw, you should try singing Mike Patton, if you haven't already. Would sound interesting, I can imagine how good you will sound with years.

Thanks for the advice. I'll try and relax more. And yes, I love Mike Patton Very Happy I may well do a cover of something of his in future. Thank you for watching and giving some feedback Smile

Hi everyone, I sing a little Josh Turner in this new vlog I just dropped. Couple of sung Eb2s I think I did a decent job of at 2:27 and 2:32.

Just a little snippet, cos some parts of my full cover sucked too bad lol. But those B♭4s are probably my strongest mixed voice highs so far. All feedback appreciated as usual.

New vlog complete with an Alan Rickman impression, Morgan Freeman impression and a short clip of me singing the first line of the chorus from "Hello" by Adele. The build up notes are a little shaky, but the belt mixed Bb4 is actually fairly solid.

Did a little latin/unplugged arrangement of "Teenage Kicks" with some "Stand By Me" thrown in for good measure. Lightened my tone A LOT to get up to that chest G#4. It's a bit thin sounding up there. But it was really high for me.

New vlog, complete with gritty G4 while impersonating Christopher Sabbat, growly spoken passage using the Cheetos slogan dipping down to a dark D2, overshot E5 from "Tom Sawyer" ending up as pretty decent heady G5s and a dark, crooned Bb2 from Frank Sinatra's "My Funny Valentine".

I don't believe so. Shame in a way. If it came across a little pretentious it still showcased some pretty good singing.

I honestly hate when people make threads for themselves. Idk. It's hard for me to take it seriously.

Also why are those falsetto notes counted as part of your sung range? Facepalm

I thought falsetto was still considered sung so long as it was stable and in a musical context. Warrel Dane and King Diamond would lose pretty much all their sung highs if we were to discount falsetto.

Exactly. It's still singing, just using a different technique. I thought we had long outgrown the idea that falsetto was somehow cheating.
