Russian Folk Song, F1-F2

Post  oktavism.com on Tue Nov 17, 2015 2:56 am

Just a quick clip I recorded this weekend. Sorry for the ugly face--it was late at night.

My goal is to really be able to sing in this lower octave--not just produce notes. Also, as I've mentioned, volume and resonance is priority numero uno for me.

The F1 is still quite rough.

Wow, that bass'yness lol. That F1 was still pretty clear, all things considered. And you should sing Подмосковные вечера, in bass clef Wink

Moscow Nights is a good idea!

I'm trying to learn some more Russian songs. Unfortunately, since I don't actually know Russian, that's very slow going!

Man, I wish. I can read it a little bit because I've done so much research on Russian material, but singing it, with proper pronunciation and all, is really difficult. I'm fairly sure my pronunciation still is quite bad, but my Russian friends are too nice to say anything.

Thanks for the encouragement!
