Are the F♯4s at the beginning him? What about the G4s in the chorus? And the B4 at 1:23?

I assume you're notewatching him now.
They are sung by him, it is his album after all. Who did you expect? Austin? Very Happy

Hey, don't tease me! Laughing

I didn't know if he was singing with a band or not. Figured if he had other band members some of them might do vocals.

And yes, I am actually doing something with this thread for the first time in 4+ months.

A day of rejoicing and sadness for sure. I'm excited to see what he'll be doing with his solo career, but his chord-shifting vocal harmonies will be missed.

I really hope he does the Patrick Stump strategy and does a few more acappella songs while maintaining his solo career. Cool

Also, there's a short Bb1 at 0:57. Countable or no?

I really like this song too.

Definitely countable. Thumb up
Less countable would be a slide
Even less countable is that B♭1 from "Have yourself a merry little christmas" COUGH COUGH

I notice you have three different versions of "Ring of Fire" listed; obviously the studio one with Avi and the live one from The Sing-Off are two of them, but what is the third? Or is that just a misprint?

Oh yeah, and in this live version of Ring of Fire, does the bass line Chris is singing at 3:38 really go E♭2-C♯2-B1? It's hard to tell but it sounds like he drops an octave from the usual E♭3-C♯3-B2.

I should probably link it.

Okay, good to know. I'd suggest marking the Sing-Off version's notes "Ring of Fire (Sing-Off)", though.

Also, he sounds way more comfortable in this gospel style of music than he ever did in Home Free's country sound. It may end up being for the best that he's no longer with the group; he has more freedom to stretch in whichever direction he feels most comfortable with, rather than being forced into one specific niche.

I agree. I don't know where he is spiritually, but I wouldn't be surprised if he were of the faith in some way. He has a different character from that of the other guys in Home Free. I mean, he did arrange "Angels We Have Heard On High," which is a very well known hymn, while most of the others have mainly focused their efforts on the pop covers.

Additionally, I didn't really realize the extent of his vocal versatility until I heard the bass-line of the above song. His lower register is certainly pretty light in comparison to many basses out there, but unbelievably solid regardless.

Apparently Chris is singing Bass in "Friends in Low Places," So You may want to add all the low notes from that.

That's very weird. It doesn't sound like him at all. But I guess it's pointless to argue.

I'm surprised nobody else has brought up this video yet.
Country Reigns:
There are numerous F4s throughout the video and a couple of spoken D2s. Also, A4 at 0:59 and 3:02.

Oh, also there's this.
Rockin' On Top of the World:
It sounds like Chris is singing lead in this song. Multiple F♯4s, G4s, and a G♯4 at 2:20. There's also a brief B♭2 at 1:21 and a chesty-sounding C♯5 at 0:45.
