Saw the Peppers live yesterday in OAKA (Athens' Olympic Center). Entertaining, energetic show with Flea and Smith in top form, as usual. Kiedis was servicable although he hardly attempted anything particularly demanding vocally (unless you count his typical random falsetto highs, he probably got G5s and A5s but so did the wailing, beer-drinking audience members) and his vocal style has become more nasal than it used to be. I wasn't too fond of the new guitarist's style, but I decided to give the man a break since he was appearing with a broken leg and, after all, the show was very satisfying overall.

Flea seems to take care of the show nowadays instead of surprisingly non-hyperactive Anthony.

That's true, Anthony barely spoke to the audience at all, with Flea taking up 'frontman' duties.

IMO their shows are a bit short nowadays. Good, but short.

Kiedis seemed to be at his peak live abilities around 2006, Stadium Arcadium era.

The F♯1 is at 1:14, but in retrospect it sounds like a G1 all the way. Definitely sung black notes, though, along with the A1s.

Well there was some debate over its fullness back on TRP1, but when I listen to it now I agree that it's full as hellll.

This is exactly why I put it down as orange. Everyone was ready to declare it as everything but full.

Yeah, but that was back when we were losing grips with our sense of what "full" even meant anymore, and were starting to believe that "all fifth octave notes are hed vois" and "all first octave notes are power fry"...so now that we've worked past all that, I would take any register verdicts from that phase with a grain of salt. Full G1 all the way dawgz. afro

You've misunderstood the meaning of orange colouring, I believe.

No, I'm just saying that just because we called a note blue in the past, it shouldn't automatically get marked as orange now. Sure the majority vote was in favor of it being fry a few months ago, but I think most of us who said so then would now admit that we hardly knew what even counted as full anymore at that point. If anyone still thinks it's fry nowadays, allow them to speak now or forever hold their peace...cause the only people I see doing so are the ghosts of accounts leftover on TRP1. Cthulhu

Can we at least agree that it's a G1, rather than an F♯1

It's so black Anthony had intense cravings for KFC after hitting it, so the story goes

If that's not full, we should just as well say the same about every other strong first octave note that's ever been hit. We had it right the first time: that G1 really is one of the fullest notes in that area that we've ever found on this site.
