Brian "Synyster Gates" Haner, Jr.

Post  Princesszolli Demi on Wed May 20, 2015 12:30 pm

Brian "Synyster Gates" Haner, Jr.
Voice Type: Unholy Tenor - Alternatively Matt Tuck Tenor
Vocal Range: A2-G♯5

Overview: He's the quintessential lead guitarist on any metal fan's top 10 list, as well as a decent singer... who knew? Mr. Brian Haner, Jr. Aka Synyster Gates, is a guitarist and backing vocalist for Heavy Metal act, Avenged Sevenfold. Though his guitar playing is pretty much legendary at this point, he is also a solid singer. Possessing a milder tenor voice, he seems to be comfortable singing through most of the 4th octave, and has occasionally sang into the 5th, though typically with less strength and control. His voice is actually fairly reminiscent of Matt Tuck's, though Syn has rarely done any harsh singing or screaming, they both typically stay within their comfort zones, and have a rather small tessitura. Overall, Synyster Sex-Master is a surprisingly decent singer, and could probably release a solo album with his own vocals, if he wanted to, and have it turn out well. (P.S. a lot of these live shows were unprofessionally shot, and didn't have the date or location listed anywhere; they're extremely old, so don't bug me about them please, because I'm trying my hardest to figure out the origins of the unknown lives, but it's been extremely difficult.)

I actually quite like his voice. Here are a couple videos of him being fairly noticeable for anyone who would like to hear. He seems to have noticeable improved over the last few years.

1:21 has an F#5

C#6 is actually a G#5. The quality is really low, so I confused a screaming fan for Syn's little note. I was also very tired when I found that note, so excuse me for that slip up.
Also, I'm currently trying to figure out the origin of the Bat Country note. The Beast and the Harlot one is lost

He definitly has. He's even trying to do some raspier, belty type of stuff now too, though he's not really that good at it yet Razz I think he's come a long way from the ooos and ohhhs and whiney harmonies from 03-06 that made him sound almost pre-pubescent

Thank's man! I've been sidetracked from this thread lately, so I haven't checked the lives any further yet.
