Metalhead's singing thread

Post  Metalhead123 on Fri Apr 24, 2015 11:08 am

This is my second ever attempt at a vocal cover (we don't speak of the first attempt). Here it is http://vocaroo.com/i/s1iczjVC2UT1. I'm just warning you all that it is probably shit. I covered Play the Game by queen. I hope you all in enjoy it because I didn't. Laughing

was it bad? I thought it was. I had a lot of trouble transitioning into falsetto.

Nah, it wasn't bad. You sang every single phrase in a completely different way though.

It was my first take, I hadn't rehearsed it, and I didn't feel like doing another take

Yeah, it sounded like you were learning how to sing it while you were singing it.

There's something that's giving you a froggy sound when you try to go chest voice. Like you're mismanaging air and holding in too much. Have you worked on your breathing?

In all honesty, I sang this song while sitting down so that might have disrupted the air flow

Why don't you give it a few rehearsal minutes. Maybe an hour minus breaks. Then try standing up? Maybe that way I can give you a proper devolution.

My parents don't like it when I sing. Me not rehearsing is doing them a favor.

I just recorded another cover. It is of Metallica's Nothing Else Matters. I tried to go for a B4 during the last chorus which I regret. It was really flat. I fucked up a few time throughout but other then that failure of a B4 It sounds good. http://vocaroo.com/i/s0vqD8Gpcfli

Strong sustained B2, tons of easy E3s, and some "interesting" whistle bull shit at the end. 10/10, Five Stars!

If you would have avoided the whistle and fry at the end, I would have also given you 5 stars.
