Saint's singing thread

Post  Saint.0 on Wed Mar 18, 2015 10:04 am

This is my thread for covers/other clips!

To start, here's a quick cover I did of "Enjoy The Silence" by Depeche Mode. Listening to the Tori Amos cover of it made me want to give it a go.

I was aiming for a more of a relaxed, almost dreary vibe.

This is just a clip of me channeling my inner headless chicken. I just recorded a vocal, then added a bunch of reverb and wahwah goodness and altered the pitch at certain moments. Then I copied the clip four times and reversed and raised the pitch of the first copy. Then I added a delay and lowered the pitch of the second copy. Next, I added an echo and changed the tempo in various spots as well as added massive amounts of reverb to the third copy and lastly brutalized the fourth by making it peak throughout after messing with the bass and treble as well as raising and lowering the pitch in certain parts and reversing it.

The original clip was me improvising as well as singing some Goldfrapp gibberish moments and taking very small portions of a ten minute clip and splicing things up so no words could actually be formed.

It sounds like garbage. flower

Stop being self-deprecating and do a Kate Bush cover. Your voice isn't bad, your falsetto has a lovely timbre to it and is certainly well on it's way. Put it to good use and forget the range wanking.

I revisited my cover of "Enjoy The Silence" and decided to make it louder and clearer. I shared this to both my YouTube channel and my Soundcloud. Praise Beysus.

I've been going to teen open mics once a month for the past year now and I typically perform a cappella. This month I performed "Jolene" by Dolly Parton and "Personal Jesus" by Depeche Mode haha

Only forty second clips were recorded but they remind me of how much fun Saturday night was.

This is another clip from an open mic I did. This was done earlier this year. I sang "Annabel" by Goldfrapp and performed it mostly in a mix of head voice and falsetto. The vocals were already drenched in reverb back when I performed it so I just added an extra echo haha
