Simon's Singing Thread

Post  SakxZ on Wed Feb 11, 2015 12:16 am

Hello fellow vocalists!

I began singing about 6 months ago, and I have a hard time knowing if i sing good or bad.
Was thinking of taking some lessons but i feel its to expensive at the moment, so I realized a good start would be to ask you guys.

I deleted my old recordings, this is what I got now

First of, you have a very soulful and amazing voice. It has a very warm quality, however there is a lot of improvement to be done.

First of, you need to learn how to stay on pitch. It's okay to crack if it compliments the track, but crack on pitch. Next thing would be not to push your range. That last note wasn't very good and it sounded very weak. Stay in your comfort zone and train from there. Another thing ou can do is to improve your phrasing. It will make your notes come out better and improve the sound.

Seriously though, great voice. You remind me of a lighter, raspier Peter Case.

FANTASTIC! Parrot This is coming from probably the biggest Tom Waits fan in Scandinavia. Great singing, much better than on your last recording. Keep up the great work man and don't stop practicing!

Thanks alot boss! Yes i will continue practicing, I think I have experienced some improvements in pitch since I starting practicing it or atleast im more aware of how it feels like being in the right spot.
