JONATHAN COULTON

Voice Type: Baritone
Vocal Range: D2 - Bb4

Jonathan Coulton is a musician born from Brooklyn. His music is primarily classified as very rhythm-based acoustic rock, though he infuses elements of other genres into his music as well, such as classic rock, blues, alternative rock, and some electronica. His music has been known to appeal to geek culture and Internet subcultures; he will reference anything from technocrats, vampires, and outer space to mad scientists and Star Trek. He is nothing if not creative, and a fine guitar player as well.

He is a baritone, and while he's not exactly known for having a broad range or showing off in regards to his voice, he has great control over his falsetto and husky-sounding low notes. His voice is quite pleasant-sounding and easy on the ears.

This is an incomplete list, because he has written a huge amount of songs. If anybody could add to this list, that would be greatly appreciated.

SIGNIFICANT HIGH NOTES:

Bb4 - "Want You Gone"
G#4 - "Nemeses"
G4 - "First of May"
F#4 - "Want You Gone", "Skullcrusher Mountain", "Future Soon", "Blue Sunny Day"
F4 - "Brand New Sucker"
E4 - "Re: Your Brains", "Skullcrusher Mountain", "You Ruined Everything"

SIGNIFICANT LOW NOTES:

D2 - "Still Alive"
A2 - "Baby Got Back", "Famous Blue Raincoat"
B3 - "Chiron Beta Prime"
C#3 - "The Presidents"
D3 - "I'm Your Moon"

* "Blue" indicates falsetto notes.

Personally I would recommend having the low note section go from high to low like the high note section, I see a lot of new members do it low to high and it kinda makes it hard to read. This way makes it so the highest notes are on top and the lowest notes are on the bottom, if that makes sense. However, that's just my experience, make it how you want.

Yeah, and I'm guessing you meant B2 instead of B3 in the lows. Wink
