I think you could do a decent job of this, but maybe you're trying to run before you can walk: it might be better to practice it as it's written until you master it, then try improvising if that's what you want to do.

Feedback please. I tried not forcing my high range this time. I'm going to slowly build up my high range.

Yeah, it's really out of tune. I noticed.

out of tune, also you have to enjoy the song you're singing, you should try a lower key because I don't hear you comfortable there

you have a lot of work man go on!

This is only the second song I've ever sung high. I'll keep practicing trying to sing it. It was really hard. I did notice I was out of tune when I listened to it. This is literally my second time ever singing "seriously" with my high range.

Edit: I tried lowering it a whole step and it was much easier to sing and I was more on pitch, but that defeats the purpose of learning to use my high range.

Aren't you pushing you larynx up too much?

For me it sounded like you're a lower-voiced person trying to impersonate a higher-voiced person, if you know what I mean.

By trying to reach the higher notes, you squeeze your larynx up and maybe lose the natural "boom" of your voice (which I believe you must have). Just my 2 cents, I'm no expert at all either.

do you want to be a singer when you grow up (you're already 22) or do you have more realistic career expectations?

Yeah, I'm in between a High Baritone and Low Tenor. I can't sing up high that well. I did sing Bass in choir. The problem is that I can only go up to D4/E4 with that "Boom" and then my voice starts hurting. The way I sing now doesn't hurt but it's like 100x harder to balance. If I don't balance the high notes just right I squeeze them out and they come out flat.

I'll be 22 in a few months. I used to play piano and guitar mostly. I also used to draw, paint, and sculpt. I only started trying singing "seriously" because I hurt my wrist and can't do my other hobbies without constant intense pain. Out of all my "hobbies" I'm the worst at singing, lol.

I think your voice is not that high, you shoud try to sing some low songs.
belive me when I started I though I was baritone Laughing and I was singing Elvis all around, you first have to discover where your voice fits better

When we did the poll for our voice types I voted Baritone. My ideal singing range is E3-E4. I've been practicing trying to sing higher than where I know I sound best.

Doesn't sound like shit, but your "almost high tone" sounds kinda fragile and nasal. Don't know if those are the right words. I think it's the same problem that I commented before.

There was a controlled high scream during the song that sounded solid (not shaky) though.

Again, I'm no expert. You should wait for someone with musical knowledge.

Nah, you're right. I have a messed up jaw that doesn't open up much so I compensate by using a higher larynx and resonating notes through my nose but then I squeeze the tone a bit and it comes out "Shaky", "Fragile", and "Nasally". I should probably take some singing lessons to see if I can do this a better way. I also don't think I support my notes well enough either.

The high notes were in mixed voice.

Thanks for the feedback. It helped me analyze it a bit better.
