This poll doesn't seem to be that useful. Even if every user voted, the sample size would be too small to be meaningful. A true tenor should be more rare than baritones, and contraltos should be rare as well. the poll does not reflect this. Also, who is keeping track of what we should call tenor, bass, baritone, etc?

It's probably not a good idea to take it too seriously Smile

A lot of young baritones have a bright timbre. It wouldn't make you a baritenor just from that. Plus if you tell someone you are a baritenor, they will assume you can vocalize into the tenor range.

my voice cracks every time I try to sing over a B♭4 in full voice. After that I can sing up to a C♯6 in Falsetto

And it isn't true? The less common voice is bass

I think that I'm a tenor who doesn't know how to use the voice by the way

I have also heard that baritones have wide ranges, lower notes and a higher falsetto normally than tenors

I believe the order of most common to least common voice types is Baritone, Tenor, Bass for Men and Mezzo, Soprano, Alto for Women.

However, almost all male pop singers you hear on the radio are Tenors. This is probably what Anibal is talking about.

BioHazard634 wrote:I don't understand why this is such a big deal. Unless it's gonna turn into us telling Heroins he's a baritone and him telling us he's sure he's a tenor, I see no problem with it. I think it's interesting too. This doesn't have to have range involved and it doesn't need to "matter", he's just curious as to what other forum members are voice type wise. I see it as having nothing to do with range, but what we would usually explain voice types as, like tone/timbre, tessitura, etc. And it's even in the title that it's what we consider ourselves to be, so it doesn't need to be 100% scientific or whatever (and so Heroins can be a tenor). So if you want to participate and vote, go for it, if you don't, don't. I love Lurex I love you , but he did start things off pretty poorly, albeit seemingly trolling, which I guess dxfifa should just let go, since you're gonna encounter such things here at TRP, but I feel like the posts made by the "higher-up" users were just kind of unnecessary. I didn't see dxfifa mention range once, he just mentioned interest, which I believe is perfectly fine, but yet range still came up (love you too Wabba Kiss ). I'm just saying, we talk about people derailing threads or overreacting, and then we seem to do it ourselves. Unless it's a serious issue, don't get involved like this. Tiphat

I voted tenor! Tee hee hee! Just listen to that timbre! I'm as bright as Harrison! Try to catch me now coppers!!!!!!!!!!

My voice is so manly girls have their panties fly off when they hear me.
(It's the exact opposite, people ask me if I'm gay...)
