Willie Nelson

Willie Nelson:

Voice Type: Baritone.
Vocal Range: D2 - E4 (For now)

Signifcant High Notes:
E4 ("On The Road Again, Good hearted woman, Whiskey River")
D4 ("City Of New Orleans, Blue eyes crying in the rain, Pancho and lefty, Hello Walls, The highwayman, i gotta get drunk)
C♯4 ("Crazy, Georgia On My Mind, Funny how time slips away, Don`t let your babies grow up to be cowboy`s")
C4 ("To All The Girls, Night Life, The Wall, Wives and Girlfriends")

Significant Low Notes:
G2 ("Crazy, Good hearted woman, Night Life, My heroes have always been cowboys, Hello Walls, Bloody Mary Morning")
F♯2 ("Whiskey River")
F2 ("Me and paul, The Wall")
E2 ("Guitar in the corner, Wives and Girlfriends")
D2 ("The Git Go, Band of brothers, Hard to be an outlaw, Crazy Like Me", Merry Christmas Baby, Let`s face the music and dance, Walking my baby back home)

The guy has a very interesting voice, some of his highs sound tenor-ish but his lows are very strong and very deep and he has no problems switching between octaves, his phrasing is often unusual and his timing is weird, but he always ends on a good note or good beat. His vibrato is one of the most oddest things i`ve ever heard.

This guy has só much music released that i`m not gonna note-watch everything on a short basis, i will (Of Course) put some more notes in the OP as soon as possible, but i did the full platinum album + a selection of songs off "Band of brothers" For now.

He purposely dips down to C2/C♯2 quite a few times here. Never for more than a fraction of a second...

B1 at 0:50, also very short, but surrounded by other lows.

Whiskey River and On the Road Again are Eb4s. I've been in the process of notewatching him for some time now and have a lot of notes logged in. You jumped the gun a bit.

During the line "Like a band of gypsies..." he sings:
Like (C#4) A (Eb4) Band (E4) Of (E4) Gyp(E4) Sies(Eb4)

And the Whiskey River note is an E4, the live version on the "Legend" album is anyways..

1:14 is an E4

Don`t think that they are significant, only a fraction of a second...

You know that even Willie Nelson is not capable of singing two lines at the same time

Good call on On the Road Again though. I'll need to fix that in my notes.

I'd say D2 to E2.

He hits an F4 in his version of "Bridge Over Troubled Water".
