You're right - it's a flat F4. In-between notes sometimes get me confused and in this case distracted by the backing. His performance of that part of the song reminds me of William Shatner!
Like I said I suck at this, but I think it's the sustain from the guitar that makes it sound like a D. I clipped the note and spliced it with a C#2 for comparison... http://www.mediafire.com/?txd7wo7phduh177Celice wrote:It's weird... when I tried playing a C#2 on an online keyboard, that definitely sounded wrong to me, and so did the other notes I tried except C2 and D2 which both sounded like they could be right. He's still been hitting high(ish) notes and dodging lows in recent years, but he definitely sounds older. I remember several years ago a guy on Stars In Their Eyes (UK TV talent show for sound-alikes of famous singers) did Neil Diamond and I couldn't understand why he won because I'd been listening to records Neil Diamond made when he was young, which sounded very different... then I heard the real, much older, Neil Diamond on telly and he did sound like his impersonator
just to be clear it's the "you" part that i m hearing as b flat the rest is a4Celice wrote:Sounds to me sort of in-between but a bit closer to A4 at its highest, but I'm not the best at pitching that sort of note so I'd appreciate any additional opinions.
