@Bread

I really agree with you, if you heard it from my perspective (a guy who just a few months ago was sooo happy to get a strained Bb4 out because it proved I was actually not physically incapable of singing high) than you would understand why I am very happy with this recording.  Obviously I am not going to be able to get a 22-year-old man's power here but the fact that I was able to get that much done and stay on relative pitch is a goal accomplished for me at this point.

@Benji

Yeah, but the more I really listen to the overall tone of my voice throughout my range, the more I know I am truly a tenor more so... I may not have the range but my voice is more bright.

You are artificially brightening up your voice by shooting your larynx way up and not giving much chest support... just so you know. We can all hear that you actually sound more baritone like whenever you don't do that.

I am not arguing my own voice type LMAO.  If you don't agree with what I choose to call my own voice then what do you really expect me to say?  I was not trying to do anything besides sing the damn song with as much power as I could get with my worn out voice.  I was indeed trying to mimic Mick's style and I prepared for this the night before by reading three chapters out of a Mick Jagger biography I bought recently.

If I was a baritone than why would my straining in the fourth octave ever sound good? It's because inside the sound waves you are hearing from my voice via picosong there is a little tenor warmth deep down inside just waiting to be released by further practicing singing like a woman.

If you really want to sound like a tenor then stop straining by singing super high and sounding like a dying animal.

Okay, let's hear you sing it it? And more importantly I know my singing here isn't perfect and I said that right off the bat so I am not sure what you are getting at. I will get much better when I actually can sing in that high register with perfect control.

Does it really matter?  I think I am a more a tenor based on the tone of my voice. (specifically, a baritenor with an extremely unpracticed head voice that has to rely on a more shouting method to get past my comfort zone)  If I sing in my tessitura it's a very bright sound.. you've heard this before surely.  Just stand by babe, trust me.  I am not in some kind of voice denial lmao.  Like I said, it really doesn't matter.  I am incredibly happy with my voice and have worked very hard to do allow it to do what I want regardless of what man made label you can stick to it.  If you want my opinion on my instrument though, i'd say pretty easily (and forgive my TRP terms) that i'm a very low tenor.

That was from a year ago, an old cover I posted that shows off a tenor sound.  (Granted it lacks the control of a trained tenor for sure)  Anyway, I believe my voice will develop into a legitimate baritenor but as of now it's fair to say I am a very light baritone.  I know I say it doesn't matter but i'd be lying if I said I didn't think voice types are fascinating to me for obvious reasons.  I'm all about theory and terms lol..

edit: by the way Timi what does your comment mean? I still don't get what posts with "> > >/=" mean.

this was lovely but i still don't hear you as a tenor. i can tell you're trying to mask the natural weight of your voice

You sound great on that song, but... You`re a baritone, you`re placing your voice higher than it is, i can hear it, the baritone shines through man, dont mask it... You have a good voice! So who gives a flying rats ass about a tenor/baritone, if you can sing the songs you like and sound good doing so you shouldn`t care.
