Country? Why not. Cover of Highwayman.

I took some liberties with it (kind of hard to pull off four unique voices alone :p). What do you think, for a metal head to attempt country?

Really Cool, the bajo at the beginning and the guitar trough the song sounded pretty nice! I like this more than the original men, cool harmonies cool voice, everything was cool in this cover In Love
reminds me of the smiths at some points I don't know why

I can't take credit for the instrumental xD A $1.99 karaoke-track =p To sound extremely arrogant, I like it more than the original as well Razz But here's the important thing to ask oneself; Why would someone EVER settle with sounding inferior to/try to imitate the song they try to pay tribute to? Remember that this is subjective and I know for a fact that around 99,9% of the fans of an original would not prefer my version of it and probably think I slaughtered it with the changes/harmonies. But that's not the least bit important. I think that if you love singing and it's your life's passion, it's important to be your own biggest fan. So bottom line, there is no better or worse... If you sing with your heart and manage to move yourself, then you're doing it right.

2 bucks is not really "paying" Razz But I did try to search youtube for it but I only found crappy karaokeinstrumentals of it and I wanted at least a decent one Razz Glad that you liked it anyway ;D

Get yourself a Midifile of the song, load it into your DAW, and record your vocals on top of that.
You get decent instrumentation, you dont have to pay $2, and its much better to mix than an MP3 file.

It depends.. Sometimes you can use a Soundfont and that will get you a great sound, offcourse its not the best in terms of quality if you compare it to the instrumental, but a midifile is adjustable to your own taste (lowering/higering key, mix different parts etc)

Problem is, when I record I never know what tone I want or have any harmonies ready or so... So the way I sing always depend on the instrumental when covering to get the "feeling right"... That wouldn't work with a midifile.. (also, I am a bit strict in that I would -never ever- lower or raise the key of a song if I cover it)

But really? $2?! It's less than pocket change EVEN for kids without work OR allowance. I could understand if we were talking $20 for a track..
