Is the F5 from "We Must Bury You" on a live performance of the song? The highest I heard was a B4 (still quite unexpected to hear him going that high). I didn't checked the other songs though.

It's from the backing vocal where the volume is reduced, but I'm not sure, if you can check again I'm thankful.

That F5 is om live performances sung by guitarist Anders Nyström, and Anders is using falsetto.

Doesn't mean that it can't be Jonas in the studio though. I mean it would be pretty difficult for him to sing both lead and backing vocals live.

Love his voice btw.

On album version it's definitely Jonas.
Btw my recommendation is listen to live album Last Fair Day Gone Night, it's whole Last Fair Deal Gone Down + 12 songs from another albums, and Jonas sounds just fantastic.

Can somebody give me the timestamp of the alleged F5? I don't hear anything higher than B4 on the studio version.

Not that it really matters, but if there's someone who I have no idea whose voice type is, it's Jonas.

I re-checked it now and it seems that it's actually a B4, I'll update, thanks man.

Great! Maybe there are also some growled lows in those early recordings (which I totally dig), but I'm awful for pitching both distorted highs and distorted lows, that's why I didn't check the debut album and those other EPs.

Bb4/B4 in the harmonies of Tonight's Music 1:30 and 2:55

Also the "C3" in this song is actually a B2 100% sure (0!47 and 1:00).

On his voice type he's a lyric baritone, but he's so so clean, tenorish in his middle-high register that he deserves his Baritenor title easy

Also GREAT Bb4s in Don't Tell A Soul harmonies

3:30

These songs are among my very favorites, Last Fair Deal Gone Down is the creative peak of Katatonia IMHO, this album is pure perfection.

I agree that lyric baritone suits him better as well, changed that.

Strong B♭2s at 1:57.

Sustained D3 at 1:14, maybe you should start counting those? Up to you though.

Also I'd imagine he'd have some high sounding notes around E4 or so right? I haven't checked much though.

It's a good idea since there are lots of D3s. I'll add any E4's too, just can't remember any now. I'm not very familiar with the newer albums, maybe I'll re-check some older songs.

Was skimming on YouTube for some Katatonia videos, and surprising strong baritone lows in the speaking before the song. Bottoms at least at C♯2. Jonas <3

Strong C2s! I'm cool with counting that myself since he pretty clearly went down on purpose at those points.

Cool! I had listened to some interviews before and noticed that his speaking voice was dark, but this tops it.

I'm willing to take over if no one else wants to. I quite enjoy Renkse's voice and music.
