Thrash singer from the band Overkill. He has some of the craziest high singing I've ever heard, even at over 50 years old! He sometimes actually kinda reminds me of Bon Scott. Light voice, though he can make it sound much darker (I haven't heard him do that much, sadly).

Some of his singing:

52 year old Blitz, vocalising shouty singing up to C♯5. He also hits an INSANE B5 at 0:17.

Some very melodic singing here.

Darker singing here

Oh, and I'll have to give a little credit to My Fairy King; he was gonna do a thread for this guy (back when he was a great note watcher and didn't bitch too much), so I got some pitches from one of his posts on the "threadless singers" thread. Hopefully TRP doesn't hate me for this  Laughing.

Is the C6 in Rotten to the Core his laugh at the beginning, or the last sung note ("rotten to the CORE-uh"

It's the note around 0:58. It's probably the wrong pitch though.

Note at 2:18? Are there any backing vox in the passages at 3:23 and 4:03? Do the backing vocals at 5:00 and 5:38 get any low?

Kickass song btw Heavy metal.

0:56 and 1:42? There are also growly notes like at 1:03 though I dunno if they are significant.

I'm pretty sure the "I Hear Black" album has some good lows on it from memory, altho I haven't really listened to Overkill since high school so it may be somewhat faulty.

I knew for sure this song has lows, a B2 at :35, and some general singing E3 in the rest of the verses. It's also the closest thing Overkill have done to "grunge" I believe.

Also, I guess I'll help out on some of the stuff you're uncertain about while I'm at it:

Serpentine Slither: Sounds like the backing vox are doubling what Blitz is singing an octave down (around G♯2), they don't really sound like him tho, but Blitz does go to E♭3 on "With HER" and "SlitHER".

Evil, in a Bag: Mostly sung around C♯3, I dunno if I heard a B2 in there but somebody can correct me if I'm wrong.

Rotten to the Core: Hmm, this is an odd one, I wanna say it's more like an A5 but it's hard to tell w/ the weird distortion, it certainly doesn't sound as high as the B5 to me.

Skullkrusher: 2:18 just sounds like a darkened C4, and the backing vox around 5 minutes sounds like mostly C3s but again I don't think they're him, IIRC DD sometimes does backing vox on the Overkill albums.

Thanks! The notes I heard as B2s in "Evil, In A Bag" are at 0:34 and 0:41, by the way.

He can give his voice quite some depth, actually. 2:39- he ends the verse with some monstrous D#4. This is most certainly among his best vocal performances.

1:06 or so. Is that the supposed C#6?

Yeah, I think an interesting performance from him is "In Union We Stand". Very different performance than his usual. Much more depth than his usual singing.

Also yeah, that live "Rotten To The Core" note does sound like a C♯6

Good to see a thread for him. I haven't listened to Overkill for a while, but Years of Decay and Horrorscope are among my favorite thrash albums of all-time. Don't remember the mid 90's stuff as well, but if I'm not mistaken, they were slower and closer to groove metal, right? Or is my memory failing me.

F5 at 4:52?

And yeah, in the 90s they were more groove metal oriented.

1m 41s. Is that an F#5? And is it altered? Because I somewhat hear a 6th octave note...

Definitely 6th octave  Shocked, nice find! I'll need some more verdicts on that note seeing that my pitching in the 6th octave is not good though.

Also yeah, I like his singing on "Death Rider". In fact I think he often sounded like Dickinson on the first Overkill albums.

It would be better if you didn't leave such vague posts but...Solid C6? Right at the beginning that is.

Could you add the C6-C#6 in the beggining of Rotten to the Core ?

By the way the note in Overkill II sounds like 6th octave to me too.

You mean C♯6 right?

That's a G5. The distortion may be throwing you off.

He does go a bit sharp at the beginning so I could buy that.

Surprised Wow, those do sound like Eb2s! Great find, definitely unexpected.

I'll check out the rest later.
