I really love his voice. Honestly, it's not a stretch to say he is similar to Björk in terms of the powerful belting that may come off as whiny.

His lyrics are fantastic, too!

I need a little help here. At the very end of this song, starting at 4:37, Jarvis slips into this strange growling sound that I can't pitch. It seems drawn out enough to count as something but I really can't tell other than that it sounds like it would be somewhere in the 1st octave.

This guy has amazing lows.  Great singer and entertainer.  

I'd personally say his highs are really pushed and forced alot of the time personally. At least live.

I saw him a couple of years back on tour and he was just as good (if not better) than he was in the 90s
