Sixto Rodriquez

Post  bradphone on Mon Dec 09, 2013 9:40 am

Sixto Rodriquez:

Vocal Type: Tenor.
Vocal Range: F#2 - F4

Significant High Notes:
F4("To Whom It May Concern")
E4("Sugar Msn", "You`d like to admit it", "Street Boy", "This is not a song", "Rich Folks Hate", "Silver Words")

Significant Low Notes:
B2("Street Boy", "You`d like to admit it", "Heikki`s suburbia bus tour", "Cause")
Bb2("Climb up on my music")
A2("Hate Street Dialoque", "It Started Out So Nice")
F#2("Gommorah", "Rich Folks Hate")

His lows sound very weak, and it kinda sounds like he struggles to go beyond the upper 3rd octave.
His songs are pretty good though, and its sad that he never got the popularity in the 70s that he deserves in my opinion.
Cold Fact is a great album, but i like Coming From Reality even more!

Listen to the timbre of his high notes.
He sounds like a Tenor to me, his lows dont have any depth/weight to `em

Sad to hear that his voice has declined so much...

I wouldn`t call him a baritone... His voice (in my opinion/too my ears) sound too light to be considered a Baritone... His lows are very weak, but his highs are weak aswell.. He struggles to go past the upper 3rd octave.

I`m not sure about his voice type, but considered those aspects i would say tenor rather than baritone.
