Growls

Post  Clem on Wed Oct 09, 2013 8:01 am

Pretty strong low growl at 1:49, but I'm having trouble pitching it. Bottoming out in the low second octave, but I can't get it very precisely. Any takers?

I fail to see the harm. I'm only using it in the threads I'm writing, and not asking anyone else to use it. Dennis has a couple of nice notes which I wouldn't really call sung, but are still good displays of his high singing in modal head voice. Some growls too, which I can't really consider singing, but are still comfortable for him. Feels like I'm understating his voice to only include them in 'Total Range', which could be loaded with red notes for all it matters.

Just a dark D3 dude. And yeah you should stop pretending you can hear 'modality' at A5. Razz

Ughh, I'm hopeless at pitching growls Facepalm But whilst I agree the timbre of the A5 sounds light enough to be blue, it's blended strongly with the lower notes it ascends from, which I would have to consider black.

Soz, I've been lazy with this one  Razz  I think I only got 1 album notewatched, plus a few vocal cover clips. If I get some spare time I'll try and finish it. But yes, you're right. He's much better than the average metalcore singer. Really powerful full voice highs.
