Just a note:
Since Idle sings a great deal, this is a thread only for his singing range, and will not include any of his silly voices, like when he impersonates women in Monty Python's Flying Circus and other things. However, I'd be fine with something like he does in this clip:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9PiqCeLEmM
When he does this entire song, he's doing an impression of singer Noël Coward, even the speaking parts. These are impressions I see as more intentionally done low, instead of the female parts, which is just random, uncontrolled shrieking.

Wow, he got butthurt for getting fined for saying fuck...
What does he hit at 1:44 on "The ozone" and after it in the Arnold Schwarzenegger bit?

Sounds like a sharp A2. Didn't hear anything significant in the Arnold bit, though. The song itself actually reminds me a lot of Tim Minchin. Surprised

Have you seen The Rutles? I can't remember any significant notes from it off the top of my head, but I remember it as having some really good singing in general.

I have seen The Rutles film, but apparently, so I've read, Idle lip-synced to guitarist Ollie Halsall's vocals, due to the fact that he was recovering from an appendectomy and couldn't record them. Sad

Lows at the beginning and end of the song, done as an impression of Noël Coward. Do they reach around G2?

Why not simply 'a tenor'? Less edgy.

Why not simply not wasting half a page to make someone modify their OP accordingly to your views?

Why throw a tantrum over my posts on a forum discussion unassociated with you?

I'm simply making a point. If Keithie admits that the dude is 'a tenor' himself, why not call him one instead of a theatrical 'a tenor, BUT I JUST DON'T give a fuck, shout out to mah homie 2Pac"? This is just a legitimate question, no need to get upset over it. I'm not exactly bothered by it, but I'm questioning this choice, as I have rights to do so.

One disagreeable sentence equals a tantrum nowadays? Confused

I kind of see what you're saying though, I mean I'd just put tenor since it's simple and gets the point across but I'm also not against trying to take the focus off voice types. If I were in Conor's place though and I was trying to do that I would just not list a voice type at all.

The reason I put the "I don't care" (I love it) bit was because I didn't want people like Arcaedion coming in with their "I THINK THIS GUY IS A LEGGARIO TENOR, UPDATE THE VOIS TYPE" arguements, because, frankly, that isn't important, and is not what this forum is about. I did acknowledge that Idle is probably a tenor of some sort, but if I was to go any more specific and say he was, I don't know, a high tenor (Hypothetical), then, sure enough, arguments would break out about who agrees and disagrees with that, and I don't want that. I don't care what kind of tenor he is because that's not important and would only lead to debates. (Most likely caused by Arcaedion or someone similar)

Also, Timi, that "theatrical" quote was one of the most butthurt and childish things you've ever posted, and that entire post just shows that you are bothered by it. As does the fact that you aren't letting it go, like I suggested you should.

Well, I understand what you (And to some extent, Timi) are saying. Idle is a tenor, yes, but the reason I emphasized that I don't care was because I wanted to let people know that I was acknowledging his voice type, but I did not want to debate about whether he was a low, mid, or high tenor, and it did not matter to me, and should not matter to anyone else. I just feel that Timi is making more fuss about this than is necessary.

However, in hindsight, listing either just "some kind of tenor" or nothing at all would have been better. However, I feel that if I had done the latter, Timi would still have come in with his "Nice tenor" comments, and this thread would still be in a similar state.
