Round 2: Whackooyzero vs Michael Bolton (in place of Inhibitions)

Anneke demonstrating some of her fantastic softer singing in an emotional duet with John Wetton, including a gorgeous high note at the end. A few parts has Wetton singing along and he has about 8 seconds here where he sings alone, but other than that the focus is definitely on Anneke.

2. Best Glissando - Matt Barlow "A Question of Heaven" live in Athens 1999
http://picosong.com/RZdC/
From Barlow's signature performance (only in a live context), he goes for a dramatic glissando followed by some powerful highs around F♯5. An emotional performance for sure!

3. Best Sustained Note(s) - David DeFeis "The Burning of Rome"
http://picosong.com/RZdM/
David singing his lungs out on generally quite sustained phrases, and climaxing in a fantastic C♯5. Two parts from the same outro were used here, just cut out some of the instrumental playing to make it more concise.

Coolest sustained note(s)
Defeis: Nothing really stood out to me, a couple of cool notes towards the end but that's about it. 2.5/5
Jones: EARGASM!!!Shocked In Love That's one powerful ass B♭4, very nice tone and power. 4/5

Best glissando:

Barlow: Eh, it was alright but he was helped out a bit by the delay. 3/5
Neeley: Not much of a Neeley fan (remember who one of my vocalists is), but he definitely put a lot of power into this one, he sounded shaky in the rest of the clip but the glissando itself was very well supported. 4/5

Most beautiful tone:
Anneke: Well, it's Anneke, hard to describe her voice w/o using "beautiful" and this clip shows it off pretty friggin well, espcially since it has a natural acoustic sound so it makes her voice even more prominent. 4.5/5
Sambora: He sounded okay but that's just it, nothing I would really call too "beautiful", altho it sounded nice anyway.

Best Sustain
David DeFeis - Like the overdrive and slight vibrato; the chest connection makes this more impressive than a typical sustained heady F#5. As far as sustain goes though, I don't think it was that fantastic. 3.5/5
Tom Jones - I know where this is going before I even press play. My heart goes to ya, Gar. 4.5/5
(too bad you didn't use one of those live versions where he almost kills himself)

Portamento
Matt Barlow - Tears; such manly tears. I think it's more the phrasing and timing, but it gets me every time. 4/5
Ted Neeley - It sounds so easy for him nowadays to do these immense wails. In contrast to the last clip, it doesn't exactly fit the moment very well and is really wanky, but that's not what this category is about. 4/5

Gentle Tone
Anneke van Giershecumjustawalkin - This is a side of her voice I'm not familiar with. Quite the pleasant surprise; she pulls of pseudo-operatic vox quite nicely and convincingly. 4/5
Richie Samborella - It's pleasant enough, but I didn't find it to be "beautiful" or even "gentle". A little to belty for this match up. 2.5/5

-Best sustained note:

David DeFeis--------Sounds pretty nice, controlled and technically impressive, but doesn't compare to the tastefulness of Tommy. 4/5

Tom Jones-----------When I saw Timi chose Tom Jones I thought "fuck, whoever goes against him in 'Sustained notes' category is doomed". That tone, that vibrato, that control... just... this man is the master at this. 5/5

--------------------------------------------------------------

-Best glissando:

Matt Barlow---------Altrough it it's kinda heavy on effects and layering, it sounds nice, and it's pretty impressive technically wise considering this is coming from the dude with the Heatfield esque ultra manly distortion. 3,5/5

Ted Neeley----------Holy shit that has to be the craziest slide I've heard so far, and it's done with flawless control and really great sound. Plus it's live. I dunno why the hell I'm not giving this 5/5, maybe 'cause I'm too noobish at glissandos and I reckon there can be stuff more impressive than this, so 4,5/5 it is.

------------------------------------------------------------

-Most Beautiful Tone:

Anneke van Giersbergen------Really nice soprano-ish angelical head vois, and impressive high at the end. It's kind of a generic and usual tone, but that doesn't take away the beauty. 4/5

Richie Sambora--------------Very emotional and great tone. Though also a little generic to be honest. It was going to lose against Anneke but the dynamics and phrasing at the end got me, so it's a tie. 4/5
