You know that that's not what he said and you really need to stop attacking everybody for no reason.

This post confuses me.. we all have agreed that he is a tenor lol. And I don't think he is attacking anybody.

He was referring to the OP; then he was attacked for agreeing with everybody else.

Of course, some people have fits when people worry over the low to high part of the name, so I'm okay with keeping it off my threads for the most part.

I'm not the only one annoyed by it, this has been discussed many times before.

Or maybe you need to stop extensively lurking my posting history.

You miss the point. I'm not waging war against "the dreaded voice type discussion" or anything like that, I'm just annoyed to see yet another instance where the word 'tenor' is used the wrong way.

Also, another thing, Rodney: I was not being completely serious there, even though the said instance annoyed me. You shouldn't take my 'attacks' so seriously, as it's all part of my humour on here and they don't really differ from replies such as "asdfg".

I feel like it's not worth complaining about, at this point. People have opinions, and we'll never become a forum that completely ignores voice types, unless we delete them from every thread; even then, people will feel the need to ask why they're missing, even though it has nothing to do with their range.

So yeah, you shouldn't take many of my words too seriously. This account was originally created as a joke in the first place, my "attacks" here are merely part of my humour most of the time. Don't see how this differs from the previous attempts at lightening up the mood via butthurt-ism/butthurt humour. But whatever, I have better things to so than analyze my "attacks" on interwebz.

Hey Michael, don't let any of the TRP-isms get to you. This is the first thing you ever told me back on TRP 1 and now I return the favor. You may be right, but, who gives a fuck haha. Just remember at the end of the day when TRP and the rest of the internet continues it's ramblings and bullshit, you and smokey are the ones who can actually sing well.

Laughing Indeed @ Celice

Sorry for the earlier butthurt, didn't mean to come across as offended. I simply meant that I didn't intent to actually attack anybody, it was mostly just my typical humour. Cheers.

Seriously, I Don't Know, you are the worst thread-maker who is still on this forum. Find lows for your threads before you post them or they will get deleted before anyone else can post in them.
Sung E3s in "Cruisin'". Pathetic, I know, but that's significant for now. Also some nice falsetto E5s in there too.

Actually me and I Don't Know talked for a good long while yesterday (he is actually a really cool guy) and we both decided that Smokey, in his prime, was a lyric soprano.

C3 @ 0:18 - not bad for a soprano. Do you think he might be more of a mezzo nowadays?

To be honest his timbre is getting a bit heavier nowadays and it's really hard to tell.  It's pretty blatant that in his prime he was a lyric soprano but nowadays I Don't Know.  His voice is a bit more masculine now so a female voice type does kinda seem weird.  However, girls like Patti Smith and Nina can sound like men so I don't think I am too out of line when I say I am absolutely positive he is an alto today.

Not sure if that's how it works mate... and his voice is not even as high as it's being made out to be. He is a tenor yes, but his technique and lightness could be achieved by a baritone just as well.

I have only just gotten into my head voice with any sort of confidence and I still got about a months worth of really thorough practice before I feel i'll be as comfortable as I need to do a good Smokey impression.  I don't think it is something out of the question though as I can almost sound exactly like him on that first line of "Ooh Baby Baby."  If I ever have an exceptional vocal day and think I can sound somewhat like him i'll do a demo.  For now my good impersonations lie with high-baritones.
