I'd say so (unless someone has any objections).

Thanks for the glissando example. I guess I was in the right with my example at first, anyway. I'll keep looking though, in case someone else has a good one.

Maynard Keenan could win all those categories, just saiyan.

PS: some time these battle should be fought with a single singer doing an example of each category.

We could maybe do it that way for next year's.
I'm still looking for a clip for one category, because the obvious candidates would have been from the singers I've already decided to allocate to the other 2 categories.

I could definitely go for single-singer competitions, as well. That way, more people can participate because each of us will only need one singer.

Not that more people would, because we barely got enough people for the test round, but yeah.

Reducing the number of singers allocated to each player would also mean that fewer categories will be needed each week. I think reducing the number of vocalists to 2 might be a good idea for the real thing...

Aw, I like my team of 3 (even if I haven't found a noteworthy glissando from Todd Rundgren yet), and if we have only 2 singers there's a higher risk of competitors being unable to find a suitable clip for a particular category. Maybe we could have 3 singers to choose from but only 2 categories each round, with a specified minimum and maximum number of times each singer can be used throughout the competition?

Well you could use many sustained notes, or one longer one, but it's up to you. Aim for something at least 5 seconds regardless. Razz

I assume by many notes, you mean from different songs, yes? Right now I'm settling on a single ~6-second note, because most of Paul's sustained notes are 3 to almost 5 seconds.

Nah, I meant just one part of a song that uses multiple sustained notes.

I'll probably stick with my one note then, except he hits that note several times in the song, so maybe I'll need to include them all.

sorry, I could not find good notes for these categories from my singers! I will have to miss this test round. Also, i'd say reducing it to one singer would be best for simplicity reasons. It's too much work to have to find three clips on youtube, turn those into mp3s, move those to audacity (which I still cant use for shit), trim them down, and then realize I don't have the software to encode them to mp3s...

lol I just used the youtube clips. It only takes 5 seconds to go to a timestamp. I'm not doing all that shit you described.

Yeah, edited clips are better where possible but linking YouTube vids with timestamps is definitely better than nothing!
If we have an even number of dropouts I guess we should re-pair their allocated opponents?

You still have time to find some YouTube videos. Downloading everything and reuploading it to picosong is a matter of convenience anyway, but I prefer YouTube videos.

I thought it was frowned upon to use youtube videos..  better yet, it was against the rules.  I remember reading you must post a clip, but I suppose time stamps would be sufficient enough.  I will definitely participate in the next round!  I am very, very sorry Devilman!  I really hate to do that to you man :/
