Post  My Fairy King on Tue Jul 09, 2013 10:00 am

Current Status: Unfinished

Best Display Of Range: "Seven Lands Of Sin" (B1-F♯5)

Significant High Notes:
F♯5 ("Seven Lands Of Sin")
F5 ("Stringless Violin", "Missa Aeterna")
E5 ("Seven Lands Of Sin", "Sanctus Ignis")
E♭5 ("Second Light", "Introitus")
D5 ("Second Light", "In Nomine", "Stringless Violin", "Seven Lands Of Sin", "Panem Et Circenses", "Chosen")
C♯5 ("Sanctus Ignis", "Missa Aeterna")
C5 ("Underworld", "Introitus", "Chosen")

B♭4 ("Second Light", "The Inner Road", "Seven Lands Of Sin", "Chosen")
A4 ("In Nomine", "Panem Et Circenses")

Significant Low Notes:
B2 ("Underworld")
B1 ("Seven Lands Of Sin")

David Readman is the former singer of the neo-classical band "Adagio", the lead singer of the hard rock band "Pink Cream 69" and a solo artist, not to mention various bands he joined. His work with the band "Adagio", whose music is characterized by an epic sound and by a variable rhythm, is superb and he can reach high notes with limpidness and with ease... His best vocal performance is without a doubt "Seven Lands Of Sin"...

*Orange marks notes with questionable registers: absolutely no use figuring out these.
*Blue marks probable non-modal notes.
*Red marks extremely bad, unimpressive or unintentional notes.
*Italics mark non-sung notes.

Sanctus Ignis

Post  Clem on Mon Jul 29, 2013 10:07 am

His singing in Sanctus Ignis is breathtaking. The album as a whole, but that song in particular has some mighty highs. His voice has always reminded me of Russel Allen from Symphony X. Though David's highs are even more developed than Russel's, which aren't bad either.

Big discorgraphy indeed Razz Just do it a bit at a time. That's what I'm doing with my threads. I've got 3 on the go, and only 1 I'd consider done for now.

He has some pretty nice and easy lows, considering that he's a tenor. I'm listening to the "Underworld" album and these are some notes I heard:

"Next Profoundis"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRvFrkie-Zw
G#2 at 1:12, C#5 at 1:50 and E5 at 2:50, and some G#2s and F#2s in the background at 2:28, also at 3:55 he starts to talk very low, that would be great, if someone checked it (I'm pretty bad at notewatching non-sung passages). Razz

"Introitus/Solvet Saeclum In Favilla"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gj1XclSonZk
E5s at 3:57 and 5:20, also C3? at 4:40 in the background.

"Promises"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OADmRQs2kQc
Bb4 at 1:35, C3 at 2:05, C5 at 2:18. Beautiful song. Smile

"From My Sleep... To Someone Else"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xgv4Em8YT_U
Sounds like dodecaphony or something. Smile Nice harsh at 1:08, C#5 at 3:17,

No idea how the author managed to miss the G#5s in the choruses of "Sanctus Ignis", despite notewatching the song. "WITH RAGE FOREVER AFTER!" at 1:14 goes up to G#5 on 'Rage'.
