Dammit, so hard to choose No, no...
But I'll take Layne. Layne sounded amazing and owned the shit live. Kurt is probably my favourite one in the studio, but live... Cringe
Eddie, Chris and Scott are all fucking amazing on their own too but for some reason I don't like them as much.

Between Layne and Eddie; chose Layne. But there are more grunge singers than just these five.

I would be lying otherwise if I didn't choose the God of Baritone Belting himself, Christopher John Boyle AKA Chris Cornell (YMMV)

I would've put the late Ben McMillan (Skin Yard, Gruntruck) up there as well, VERY underrated.

Layne is definitely my favorite, his voice is the most unique of Grunge, and Alice is my favorite band.
and my second favorite is Scott Weiland, his voice is great, and very versatile.

i also like Cornell a lot, his range and technique are amazing.

but i don't really care or have any interest in pearl jam or nirvana, so...

Scott is pretty cool but in his career as a "grunge" singer he imitated other singers (I mean, he sounds just like Vedder on "Plush") instead of creating his own unique sound and way of singing like the others did.

I dislike Nirvana and Kurt's technique was mostly shit but what a nice voice Sad
Not a big fan of Grunge in general, but I'd probably say Cornell because he seems to be the most interesting vocally to me.

Suck is a bit strong. I think overall he was a pretty good vocalist, but had bad technique (as if I give a fuck) and tasteless singing all over the place. As B6 said, he had a pretty nice voice.

Nirvana is probably my favorite grunge band (either that or AiC) but I voted for Staley because I think he's overall a better a singer than Kurt. Tbh all the singers here are great IMO, especially Vedder and Staley. Weiland is less original but still really good.

Cornell>Staley>>>>>>>>>Vedder>Cobain

Also, lets not have the grunge genre argument again. It's pointless.

Lately I've been digging the hell out of Mark Lanegan as a singer but I see he didn't make the poll.Sad

So due to that I choose Layne. Great band, great voice, great songwriter. Plus the range of emotion in his voice is fantastic.

You mean Lanegan or Staley? 'Cause Staley's voice isn't deep at all
