Taylor Swift

Post  B6 on Mon Jun 10, 2013 4:40 am

Note: Please go here for the current version of this thread.

Vocal Range: E♭3-G5

Significant high notes:

  • G5 ("Shake It Off")
  • F♯5 ("You Belong With Me")
  • F5 ("Blank Space")
  • E5 ("I Know Places", "Red", "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together")
  • E♭5 ("I Knew You Were Trouble", "You Belong With Me")
  • D5 ("Blank Space", "Mine", "Shake It Off", "22", "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together")
  • C♯5 ("Everything Has Changed", "I Knew you Were Trouble", "Mean", "Red", "You Belong With Me")
  • C5 ("Blank Space", "Mine", "22")
  • B4 ("Begin Again", "Everything Has Changed", "I Knew You Were Trouble", "Love Story", "Mean", "Mine", "Red", "22", "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together", "You Belong With Me")
  • B♭4 ("Change", "Everything Has Changed", "I Knew You Were Trouble", "You Belong With Me")
  • A4 ("Back To December", "Love Story", "Mean", "Ours")

Significant low notes:

  • A3 ("Back To December", "I Know Places", "Love Story", "Mean", "Ours", "22")
  • G♯3 ("Clean", "Everything Has Changed", "Mean", "You Belong With Me")
  • G3 ("Back To December", "Begin Again", "Blank Space", "Mine", "Shake It Off", "22", "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together")
  • F♯3 ("Everything Has Changed", "You Belong With Me")
  • F3 ("Change", "Ours")
  • E3 ("Begin Again",  "This Love", "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together")
  • E♭3 ("Shake It Off", "Wildest Dreams")

.......................................................
*Orange marks notes with questionable registers: absolutely no use figuring out these.
*Blue marks probable non-modal notes.
*Red marks extremely bad, unimpressive or unintentional notes.
*Italics mark non-sung notes.

Perhaps surprisingly, Taylor Swift has pretty solid and strong notes all over her (pretty decent) range. There's still work to be done, but for now I think this will do.

Random songs. All of them had notes that are in the OP, so if you want to help with the notewatching, you can check any song that isn't in there.

Sung G3's and C5's in "Picture To Burn". She also has spoken bits in that song, and if I recall correctly there are some D3's

They aren't the "ooo" parts, those are D5s. The E5s are pretty clearly belted, and they're near the end of the song.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WA4iX5D9Z64 2:47 "EEver" in the background" and a fainter one seconds later.

Fucking hell... I'm trying to sing 22 and it's so hard. I can't hit higher notes than the ones that the song gas but it's so hard in 22 and I have no idea why.

I meant I can* hit higher notes, but the song makes it difficult, sorry. I think I was being insomniatic..

I mean I can even hit D5 with chest... and I cannot hit 22 notes... fucking hell.. I would really love some instruction here please.
