Wow, I knew he had some high notes, but a G5? wow.

Good thread, although i'd say he's more of a high baritone, even though he has great extension into the 5th octave his tone is still pretty weighty and doesn't sound as light as an LT's; maybe a baritenor? His voice has a very Bolton-esque tone to it at times on his highs.

C5 at 3:56? I think there are a few more notes from B♭4 to C5 smattered across the song.

B4 at 2:58 and 3:12?

C5 at 2:49? C#5 maybe at 4:21, could be some B4's/C5's near the ending.

I was going to go with HB until I listened to some of the older, clean sung stuff he had. It really seemed sort of tenorish to me, but baritenor is probably a better description.

At 1:08 there's a C6 and at 2:00 there's a B5, I think they're both non-modal screams, but I'd like a second opinion on it.

I'm hearing a F#6 at 5:31, but based on the note afterwards it just seems like a really high overtone of E5. Any ideas on it?

I think that despite his raspy sound, Seger is definitely a tenor. If you listen to night moves, he gets pretty easy high a flats and high c's, and sings a lot of his songs up in a tenor tessitura.

In my opinion, baritenor is pretty much the absolute perfect description for his voice. Baritone weight, tenor tessitura. Simple as that.

Agreed.

When the time comes, please suggest a Seger E5 clip for the video in the respective thread.
